A Family Photoshoot isn't something you do every day...
...so it’s completely normal to feel a little unsure about what to expect. But don’t worry — I’ll be with you every step of the way to make sure you feel relaxed, confident, and truly enjoy the experience.
In the lead-up to your session, I’m just a call or message away if you have any questions. I’ll also send you some helpful tips — including what to wear and how to prepare — so you won’t have to worry about outfits or forget anything important.
What happens at a photoshoot?
Photoshoots shouldn't be stressful or anxiety-inducing. The best photos happen when you're relaxed and genuinely enjoying yourself, so I always aim to make the experience as easygoing and fun as possible.
Before the shoot, we'll chat about outfit options that suit your style and discuss locations that you feel comfortable in and excited about.
At the start of the session, it’s totally normal to need a little time to warm up. The first few shots are all about helping you get comfortable in front of the camera. As the session goes on, you’ll start to feel more confident and natural.
How long will it take?
The Session will last 1 to 2 hours. It may seem like a long time but includes moving to different spaces within the location so we have a chance to capture a variety of different angles and backgrounds.
I like to shoot in a documentary style, which means I focus on real, candid moments rather than stiff, posed shots. Most of the best images are captured when you're unaware of the camera or simply enjoying time with your family. That’s why I always encourage you to relax and try to forget I’m even there—I'll work around you to capture those genuine moments.
Where will it take place?
Photoshoots can be arranged at your home or at any location that holds special meaning to you—whether it's a favorite park or a scenic spot you love. If you're not sure where to shoot, I'm happy to suggest a few beautiful and versatile locations that I believe are perfect for capturing stunning, natural images.

The session fee is required at the time of booking and includes both the planning and photoshoot. This fee covers the following:
A phone consultation to discuss your vision and personalise the session for your family.
A relaxed and enjoyable photo shoot at your home or a scenic outdoor location in Sussex*
Expert editing and retouching of the images captured during your session.
Access to a private online gallery where you can view your photographs and make your selections.
*These prices apply to family photoshoots within a 20-mile radius of Brighton & Hove, East Sussex. I'm happy to travel anywhere in the UK, though additional charges may apply to cover travel expenses.
Booking a family photo session is simple and flexible.
Step One: Reserve Your Session
To book your session, a session fee is required. This fee saves your spot on my calendar and includes a friendly pre-session chat, helpful prep emails, and phone support to make sure you're all set for the big day. This fee doesn’t include any photos—those come later once you’ve had a chance to see your beautiful images.
Step Two: Pick Your Favorites
After your session, you’ll get to see your photos and decide how you’d like to enjoy them. You can choose from a selection of individual prints and digital images.
